Diego Piccini da Todi ©™ * is a visual art and multimedia artist. He owns his gallery * and expressed himself ny using four mediums:
- Photograph (the artist is a simple witness).
- Graphic art and multimedia (using new technologies in a classical artistic dynamic).
- Drawing (« fundamental » technique for the artist who draws only by memory).
- Painting (the final act).
Diego Piccini da Todi, 40, is a French-Italian born artist and now Canadian based in Montreal. He is working in the visual, multimedia and Web art fields. He is Buddhist and a “practical ecologist “. He holds a French D.E.A degree * in Arts and Letters, with a special focus on Contemporary and Art History.
Memory, image and word… During his D.E.A *, he worked as a graphic designer and a web/multimedia developer by creating his own firm. His goal was to use all the rising potential of a new communication technology, the Internet, in order to structure and web cast a specific or more general knowledge (but the Web dynamic was just about to really begin). At this point, much more than written word and multimedia, image entered his process too as obvious and mighty broadcasting vectors of powerful structured information. He then became an international Lead designer and opened his Art gallery and graphic / development studio in Montreal’s famous Belgo building, which gave him the opportunity to evolve his practice in drawing, painting and photography. He also continually deepens his spiritual study of Dharma, following Longchempa’s universal teachings. The cornerstone of his artistic approach is his reliance on imagery sourced exclusively from his memory and imagination (except regarding the photograph field).
* Equiv. European Master II. He first graduated Magna cum laude (Master)
